Joerg Zirener

Director

Dr. Zirener joined the Neology Board in 2014 and is a Partner at One Equity Partner’s Franfurt office. During his tenure at OEP, Dr. Zirener worked on numerous investments in the packaging, IT services, technology, chemical, and healthcare industries. Dr. Zirener is a member of the Board of Directors of DWK Lifescience Group, Verimatrix, MCL, VASS, and Bibliotheca and has previously been a member of the Board of Directors of Smartrac, Lutech, Constantia Flexibles, Engineering, and Duropack.

Prior to joining OEP, he was a Senior Project Manager in the Restructuring/Corporate Finance division of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, where he was responsible for corporate restructuring projects across different industries in Europe. Dr. Zirener studied Business Administration at the European Business School in Oestrich Winkel, the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa in Buenos Aires, and the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de La Rochelle. He wrote his doctoral thesis on Bankruptcy (Chapter 11) restructurings and received his Ph.D. from the Europa Universität Viadrina.

Andrew Dunn

Director

Andrew Dunn joined the Neology Board in 2016, and is a Partner at One Equity Partners  in New York. During his tenure at OEP, Andrew has worked on a range of investments in the IT services, technology, media and telecommunications industries. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Allegro Microsystems, Armis, Locality, MediaKind, Orion Innovation, Trustmarque, and is a Board observer at Infobip. He was previously involved in OEP’s investments in Mandiant, Netas, Ribbon Communications, Travelport, TV Guide, and Zodiac Systems.

Prior to joining OEP, Andrew worked at the Boston Consulting Group, where he primarily served clients in the media and telecommunications sectors. He received his M.P.P. focused on International Trade and Finance from the Harvard Kennedy School and his B.A. (double first class honors) in Modern History from the University of Oxford.

Vittorio Palladino

Director

Vittorio Palladino joined is a Principal at One Equity Partners, and joined Neology’s board in 2023. Vittorio works primarily on investments in the technology and services industries and serves as director on the Board of VASS and Trustmarque. He is involved in OEP’s investment in Crayon. He was previously a board observer at Lutech and involved in the investments into Verimatrix and MCL.

Prior to joining OEP, Vittorio was a consultant in the restructuring and corporate finance division of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, where he was involved in performance improvement, turnaround and strategy projects in the automotive, consumer, industrial and TMT sectors across Europe. He received his B.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration from the Goethe University Frankfurt and his M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics, where he graduated with Distinction.

Phillip Howard

Independent Director

Philip K. Howard is a leader of government and legal reform in America. He is Chair of Common Good and a bestselling author, and has advised both parties on needed reforms.

Philip is a best selling author and his commentaries are published frequently in major media outlets. In 2002, Philip formed Common Good, a nonpartisan coalition dedicated to simplifying laws so that Americans can use common sense in daily choices. His 2010 TED Talk has been viewed by more than 750,000 people. His 2015 report, “Two Years, Not Ten Years,” exposed the economic and environmental costs of delayed infrastructure approvals, and its proposals have since been incorporated into federal law.

Philip is Senior Counsel at the law firm Covington & Burling, LLP. He is a graduate of Yale College and the University of Virginia Law School.

Christian Uhl

Independent Director

Christian is a tenured executive with a track record of delivering long term growth and financial success in the highly dynamic and international technology space. He brings outstanding financial and general management insight, strengthened by international M&A experience (buy-side and sell-side) to Neology’s strategic objectives.

Carolyn Flowers

Independent Director

Flowers is a National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) certified Director, and brings more than 40 years of Board membership, public, and private sector experience in the automotive, computer, and transportation industries to Neology.

Carolyn spent nearly 20 years in the public sector at Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) with responsibility for overseeing Strategic Planning, Budget Management, Operations and Safety, and Labor Negotiations. For her outstanding contributions, she was named Chief Operating Officer before accepting a new position in 2010 as CEO for the Charlotte Area Transit System, where she spearheaded a $2 billion expansion of the area’s light rail and streetcar system. In 2015, Flowers joined the Obama Administration as a Senior Advisor to the US Department of Transportation. She was subsequently appointed Acting Administrator for the Federal Transit Administration by the President.

After leaving public service, Flowers joined AECOM, a global engineering firm, as Senior Vice President of their North America public transit sector, which generated over $1 billion in annual revenue. In 2019, Flowers became a Managing Partner and Co-owner of InfraStrategies LLC, a consulting firm that provides strategic planning, advisory services, and capital planning guidance to large transit system clients.

Joseph Averkamp

Independent Director

Averkamp brings over 20 years of experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems and tolling technology. Prior to Neology, Averkamp worked in leadership roles at Parsons, Xerox, and Kapsch. During his time at Xerox, he launched the Xerox Vehicle Passenger Detection System, an HOV Lane enforcement tool based on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), which won the Best of ITS Award in 2016. He is a frequent speaker at IBTTA events on topics related to innovation, technology advancement, and policy.

Averkamp has previously held executive and technology positions at Ford Motor Company, Motorola, and Sprint-Nextel. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Steven Norris

Independent Director

Norris brings 40+ years of experience in transportation and infrastructure and has a successful record as an executive and non-executive director of public and private companies in both the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States of America (USA).

Notably in his career, Norris was appointed to Minister in the Department of Transport with a special responsibility for London by Prime Minister Sir John Major. He served in that capacity from 1992 to late 1996 and his achievements in office include delivering the commencement of London’s Jubilee Line Extension – which opened up East London and laid the ground for the London 2012 Olympics – and taking the Elizabeth Line project through Parliament in 1995 which led to its eventual opening in 2022; within a year of its opening, it became the UK’s most used railway.

Since his retirement, Norris writes on transportation and infrastructure and is featured on UK TV and radio.  He serves as advisor or Chair of various public and private Boards, including Chair of the UK’s National Infrastructure Planning Association, and Commissioner of the UK’s Independent Transport Commission. Norris holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of East London.  He is currently President of ITS-UK, the UK branch of the Intelligent Transport Systems global network.

Francisco Martinez de Velasco

Francisco is a founder and entrepreneur based in California. Founded in 2001, Francisco served as Neology CEO for 22 years before a strategic and coordinated leadership transition to Brad Feldmann, in 2022.
